Cosmetic Product Information File (PIF) is a comprehensive document compiling together your product information, like formula, ingredients, product labels, and photos of the packaging, among the others. Purpose of the PIF is to ensure a cosmetic product is safe for use and compliant with regulatory requirements in the UK.

A PIF must be kept available in the place of manufacturing for inspection by regulatory authorities. Maintaining a PIF is a continuous process, not just during the products lifecycle (shelf life): it should be maintained for 10 years after the last batch is placed on the market.
